Rock Solid

We were driving to Gregory on Saturday afternoon, and it had seemed like we had been driving for ever, and Tyler was bitching incessantly. Of course I felt really bad because I know how he feels about my family, and spending one of his few days off in there presence, and driving 3 1/2 hours to do so was less than pleasant. That was when he told me that was why I should know just how much he loves me. It really made me think about what I would do if something ever happened to him. It also made me think back to everything we've been through. We've been through so many life changing obstacles that many couples never make it through. Somehow we've made it through his criminal activities and drug charges, a scary prison bid, trust and fidelity issues, loss, poverty, and sobriety. Somehow, through it all our relationship has  become even more rock solid than ever.

  1. Thankyou for sharing your story. Tough times can either make or break a relationship so it is nice to read a story where it has strengthened one.

My husband and I have a friend who became a Christian while in prison. We met him and his then girlfriend at a Church we were worshipping with. We rubbed shoulders with all walks of life in that Church and it was truly a blessing and learning for us. Ken even went into a prison (visitors section) because this lady at the church wanted to visit her husband and had no transport to get there ( 2 hours drive away from here ).
The friend who spent time in prison visits us each fortnight with his now wife. Two years ago we helped them get married - they had little money.
    Bless you both.

  2. Thank you...It was tough while he was away, but we made it because we are pretty tough...lol...Visiting prison is a pretty scary experience. That is very kind and selfless of your husband. Although prison wasn't a religious experience for Tyler, it was life changing. He grew so much while he was away. I guess it took something serious like that to help us both find sobriety in our lives.
